WEATHER WARNING: Lightning, hail and heavy rain incoming

The South African Weather Service has predicted intense weather conditions for Tuesday, 14 April. Here’s what you can expect across KwaZulu-Natal, the Free State, and North West.

KWAZULU-NATAL

A Yellow Level 2 warning has been issued for KwaZulu-Natal. Severe thunderstorms with heavy downpours, lightning, hail, and damaging winds are on the cards for the province.

DURBAN

Durban can expect cloudy conditions with isolated showers and thundershowers. A minimum of 20°C and a maximum of 28°C is predicted.

FREE STATE

The central and eastern parts of the Free State have also been hit with a Yellow Level 2 warning. Thunderstorms, lightning, hail, and damaging winds are predicted, and they could result in localised flooding and damage to settlements and infrastructure. The rest of the province can also brace for showers, with partly cloudy conditions developing in places by the late afternoon.

BLOEMFONTEIN

Bloemfontein can expect cloudy conditions with scattered showers and thundershowers. You can expect a low of 13°C and a high of 25°C.

NORTH WEST

The South African Weather Service has also issued a Yellow Level 2 warning for the extreme southern parts of the North West. The rest of the province can expect cloudy and cool to warm conditions, with scattered showers and thundershowers, but isolated over the western parts.

MAHIKENG

Mahikeng can expect cloudy conditions with scattered showers and thundershowers. Temperatures will range from 15°C to 26°C.
